Obligatory Belief Regarding the Companions Class #1

As we have recently finished our classes on the Abridged Biography of the Messenger of Allah by Imaam Muhammad ibn Abdil-Wahhab, we will now begin a new, short book, in shaa Allah, regarding the obligatory belief upon us towards the noble companions of the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, as they are our examples, our salaf, to be followed and emulated.

The book titled الإعتقاد الواجب نحو الصحابة can be read and downloaded by clicking on the Arabic title.  It is authored by our sheikh Faalah bin Isma'eel Mandakar, hafidhahullah.

We begin today's lesson by reading the introduction by our noble sheikh Muhammad bin Saaleh al-Uthaymeen, rahimahullahu ta'ala.

As with all of our classes at Masjid Tawheed in Stone Mountain, GA, we encourage you to join us.  If you are not able to attend in person, please feel free to listen in via our Paltalk room or our telelink line at 712-432-2856.

Explanation of Riyaadus-Saaliheen

Explanation of Selected Ahaadeeth from Riyaadus-Saaliheen by Sheikh Muhammad ibn al-Uthaymeen.

In this class we continue Chapter 11: Al-Mujaahadah (Striving in the Way of Allah).  We begin with reading the first hadith brought by the sheikh:

Narrated Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said, "Allah Almighty said, 'I have declared war on anyone who shows enmity to a wali of Mine. My slave does not draw near to Me with anything I love more than what I have made obligatory on him. And my slave continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory actions until I love him. When I love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. If he were to ask Me for something, I would give it to him. If he were to ask Me for refuge, I would give him refuge.'" [al-Bukhari]

Wednesday's classes on the Explanation of Riyaadus-Saaliheen are held  particularly for women after salatul-asr at Masjid Tawheed in Stone  Mountain, GA. However, this is a book for us all to learn and benefit  from, and we encourage everyone to join us.

Allahu ta'ala says in the Quran:

وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مَخْرَجًا

And whosoever fears Allâh and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). (At-Talaq 65:2)

And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allâh, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allâh will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allâh has set a measure for all things. (At-Talaq 65:3)

Khutbah: Benefits of Surat Al-Asr

This khutbah was given at Masjid Tawheed in Stone Mountain, GA.

وَالْعَصْرِ

By Al-'Asr (the time).

إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ

Verily! Man is in loss,

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ

Except those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth (i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma'rûf)which Allâh has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar)which Allâh has forbidden), and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allâh's Cause during preaching His religion of Islâmic Monotheism or Jihâd, etc.).
