Explanation of the Creed

Class of Thursday, April 5, 2012

Explanation of the Creed (Sharhus-Sunnah) by Imaam Abu Muhammad al-Hasan al-Barbahaaree from the book of our noble Sheikh Saaleh al-Fawzaan, hafidhahullah, entitled:  إتحاف القاري بالتعليقات على شرح السنة

In today's talk we begin with point 4:

Umar ibn al-Khattab, rahimahullah, said, “There is no excuse for anyone going astray thinking that he is upon guidance. Nor for abandoning guidance thinking it to be misguidance, since the affairs have been made clear, the proof established and the excuse cut off.”

Imaam Al-Barbahaaree comments on this quote saying:
“This is because the sunnah and the jamaa’ah have consolidated and safeguarded all of the Religion. It has been made clear to the people, so it is upon the people to comply and follow.”

Thursday's classes are held in Masjid as-Salaam in Atlanta, GA.  Please join us if you are able, in shaa Allah.

Explanation of Selected Ahaadeeth from Riyaadus-Saaliheen by Sheikh Muhammad ibn al-Uthaymeen

In our last class we finished the chapter of al-Ikhlaas and we beging a new chapter today; the Chapter of Tawbah (repentance).

Linguistically "tawbah" is the masdar of the verb "taaba" (to return), and that in Islaam it means "to return from sin to obedience".

We will discuss the the conditions of tawbah.  Do you how many, and what they are?

What is the greatest and most important form of tawbah?

What are the other levels of tawbah?

Listen to find out, in shaa Allah.

Jazaakum Allahu khairan.

From the Fiqh of al-Ad'iyyah wal-Adhkaar (calling upon and remembering Allah)

This lecture was given on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Masjid at-Tawheed in Stone Mountain, GA.

This talk is based on the book Fiqh al-Ad'iyyah wal-Adhkaar by our noble Sheikh Abdur-Razzaaq ibn Abdil-Muhsin al-Badr, and may Allah preserve them both.  This book was actually a set of classes given by the Sheikh on a Quran Radio Station in Saudi Arabia.  However, many of the students and scholars alike saw the tremendous benefit in these classes and requested him to compile them into a book.  He did this and then sent it to the noble Sheikh ibn Baaz, rahimahullah, who read it and praised it.

You can also find this book as an ebook on the website of the Sheikh here:http://www.al-badr.net/web/download/ebook/muallafat3.html

And perhaps this will be an incentive for some to study the arabic language, in shaa Allah.

From the highlights of the talk is the mention of ibn Abbaas, "The shaytaan is sitting on the heart of the Son of Adam in wait.  Once that heart becomes heedless, he begins to whisper.  And when the person begins to remember Allah, he flees and is humiliated."

Friday Khutbah - "Remember Me, I Will Mention You" (2:152)

This khutbah was given on Friday, May 4, 2012.

Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying, etc.). I will remember you, and be grateful to Me (for My countless Favours on you) and never be ungrateful to Me. (Al-Baqarah 2:152)

This is a topic of utmost importance... Dhikr (remembrance) of Allah.

Imaam as-Sa'adee, rahimahullah, said that the Dhikr of Allah is one of the GREATEST means to attain success!

And look at how easy it is.  It doesn't cost money.  It doesn't make you tired or hungry.  It doesn't take you away from your business.

Yet how many of us are negligent in this.  We should not simply reserve the time of prayer for the Remembrance of Allah.  Rather we should remember Him in all of our affairs; while buying and selling, working, walking here and there, while doing household duties, and more....

And may Allah make us all from those mentioned in Surat al-Ahzaab:

وَالذَّاكِرِينَ اللَّهَ كَثِيراً وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا

....And the men and the women who remember Allâh much with their hearts and tongues (while sitting, standing, lying, etc.), Allâh has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). (Al-Ahzab 33:35)

General Lecture - Effects of Worship on the Life of the Muslim - Part 4

This is the 4th and final part of a lecture mini-series given on Monday, April 9, 2012.

This was taken from lecture given by our Noble Sheikh Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbaad al-Badr, hafidhahullah entitled

In this part we study what the Sheikh said regarding how we understand the hadith of Ibn Abbaas that the Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wasallam, said to him:

احْفَظْ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ

"Preserve Allah and He will Preserve You."

And also the tremendous benefit in the statement of the Sheikh, "Get to know Allah in times of ease and He will know you in times of hardship."

Listen for more gems like these...
