Tawakkul (Reliance) Upon Allah Pt 3

This talk was given at Masjid Ibadur-Rahman in Marietta, GA.

Taken from one of the works of our noble sheikh Dr Saaleh al-Fawzaan entitled   محاضرات في العقيدة و الدعوة .  You may download the original Arabic text by clicking on the title.

We continue today with the explanation of the sheikh of depending upon Allahu ta'ala and also following the means.  This is a very important as many people fall into one of the two extremes, some people say, "We rely upon Allah," but they don't follow the means.  They may sit at home and not work, saying that Allah will provide and not put any effort forth on their own part.  And yet some others fall into the other extreme and rely upon the means and their own efforts, and neglect reliance upon Allah altogether.

However, the shiekh explains to us what is correct and gives us many beautiful and beneficial reminders regarding these points. Listen to find out more...

A Reminder for the Women

As this short talk is for our sisters, we will read a general reminder from our noble sheikh Saaleh al-Fawzaan regarding a portion of ayah 53 in Surat al-Ahzaab:

وَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّ مَتَاعًا فَاسْأَلُوهُنَّ مِن وَرَاء حِجَابٍ ذَلِكُمْ أَطْهَرُ لِقُلُوبِكُمْ وَقُلُوبِهِنَّ

And when you ask them for anything you want, ask them from behind a screen, that is purer for your hearts and for their hearts.

Obligatory Belief Regarding the Companions Class #1

As we have recently finished our classes on the Abridged Biography of the Messenger of Allah by Imaam Muhammad ibn Abdil-Wahhab, we will now begin a new, short book, in shaa Allah, regarding the obligatory belief upon us towards the noble companions of the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, as they are our examples, our salaf, to be followed and emulated.

The book titled الإعتقاد الواجب نحو الصحابة can be read and downloaded by clicking on the Arabic title.  It is authored by our sheikh Faalah bin Isma'eel Mandakar, hafidhahullah.

We begin today's lesson by reading the introduction by our noble sheikh Muhammad bin Saaleh al-Uthaymeen, rahimahullahu ta'ala.

Explanation of Riyaadus-Saaliheen

Explanation of Selected Ahaadeeth from Riyaadus-Saaliheen by Sheikh Muhammad ibn al-Uthaymeen.

In this class we continue Chapter 11: Al-Mujaahadah (Striving in the Way of Allah).  We begin with reading the first hadith brought by the sheikh:

Narrated Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, said, "Allah Almighty said, 'I have declared war on anyone who shows enmity to a wali of Mine. My slave does not draw near to Me with anything I love more than what I have made obligatory on him. And my slave continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory actions until I love him. When I love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. If he were to ask Me for something, I would give it to him. If he were to ask Me for refuge, I would give him refuge.'" [al-Bukhari]

Wednesday's classes on the Explanation of Riyaadus-Saaliheen are held  particularly for women after salatul-asr at Masjid Tawheed in Stone  Mountain, GA. However, this is a book for us all to learn and benefit  from, and we encourage everyone to join us.
